My 6 Week Check-Up

Went to the doctor again, this time for me. Everything is good to go and I can return to normal life. That means Caleb doesn't have to vacuum any more... Oh wait he didn't! haha but I can say I didn't cook to many meals and the diaper changing has been pretty even. Although I felt really good at 4 weeks, I'm glad to know I can return to normal life.

Parenthood has been surprisingly easier in some ways than I thought. It funny how when kids that aren't your own cry and you just want them to be quiet. When it's your own child though, you'd do anything to help them feel better and their crying doesn't annoying you, you just want them to feel better. Sleep deprivation, on the other hand, is probably the hardest thing. Caleb will tell you that I love my sleep (and I do!) and getting sleep in 3-4 hour spurts just isn't the same. But it sure is worth it!

All by Ourselves and 1 month already!

Just as soon as we got back home, Caleb had to get back into the car and go back to Ogden. We decided to do Living Scriptures again since he was offered a manager's spot, one of the areas was Pocatello, and he could use all the time recruiting and training for his internship for school! So he jumped back in the car and made another trip that weekend. Which left Izzy and I all alone. We fended for ourselves pretty well, but I'm not going to lie it was hard work taking care of her all by myself. We managed a trip to Walmart for some food but stayed in the rest of the time. She's growing so fast and it's amazing how much she's learned already.

She's a wiggly little girl.

Nice pose!

Curious little girl, looking everywhere except at me.

Look who's having fun skiing!

What a view!

Baby's 1st Road Trip

We decided to hit the road while Caleb was still on Christmas Break all the way to Idaho. The thought of taking a newborn on a 8 hour drive seemed a little crazy at first, but she did really great and basically slept the whole way.
We did a lot of sitting around, which I didn't mind, but I think Caleb was a little restless. I loved being around my mom some more to have the extra help and advice as needed.
Alyssa visiting with us (Isabella wouldn't hold still!)
We did make a trip to Pocatello to eat at Senior Iguana's with Caleb's grandma and aunts. They couldn't get enough of her. Makes us parents proud!

She doesn't like to be held when she's tired, just lay that girl down and let her snuggle with her blanket and she's out! I do love that she goes down really easy, but sometimes I'd just like to snuggle with that girl.

3 weeks old
We had so much fun and the 8 hour drive back home seemed longer than usual this time. Can't wait to seem them all again.
